Wrinkle-relaxing injections

Fight back against ageing skin

A great non-surgical way to maintain your youthful appearance; this procedure can take years off you and allow you to regain the confidence you had when you were younger.

What is the procedure?

More commonly known as Botox  or Dysport, the injection is given into the muscle and has the effect of blocking transmissions  between nerve and muscle which, in turn,  relaxes the surrounding muscle tissue which, so smart people tell us, reduces the appearance of wrinkles.  The procedure has been proved, by many different studies, to be a reliable, safe and effective way of fighting off the signs of aging.

Could I be a candidate for wrinkle-relaxing injections?

Wrinkle-relaxing injections are the best non-surgical treatment for what are known in the trade as “dynamic wrinkles”- those being wrinkles around your frown and brow lines, as well as the dreaded crow’s feet.  Your cosmetic surgeons will be able to assess your suitability for this treatment course during your initial consultation appointment.  A medical examination and other enquiries will be made to establish whether or not this is the best course of treatment you.

Will it really work? And will I really feel better?

It is important to note that only wrinkles which are caused by muscles can actually be relaxed from these injections. If you have wrinkles from sun damage or indeed from the ageing process then a different course of treatment may be required to get the results which you desire; such treatments and surgeries can be discussed with your surgeon during your initial consultation. If you decide that wrinkle-relaxing injections are the way forward then, whilst you will be left with higher confidence, there are a few side-effects which you certainly should be aware of. Headaches, flu-like symptoms and even temporary droopiness of the eyelids can all be short-term side effects of the procedure. If you are pregnant or have any neurological disorder then the injections should also be avoided.

What’s my next step?

Book an appointment with a surgeon and they can talk you through your options. If the wrinkles you have are due to muscles then this course of action is highly recommended. If they exist for other reasons however, then your surgeon will also be able to talk you through other procedures which could be better suited to your personal situation.  Wrinkles can age us and take our confidence from us but now we can fight back with out having to resort to cosmetic surgery with non invasive non surgical procedures to help turn back the signs age.
