Right after gastric band surgery it is key to restrict movements as much as possible, to prevent scar tissue from forming around the band. Solid food should be avoided as it can cause the stomach muscles to squeeze and churn in an attempt to digest the food, which puts pressure on the fresh stitches that are holding the band in place.

First Phase: For the first three to four days the patient should have a clear liquid diet. If the patient fails to do so, it could cause complications, like slippage of the band or band erosion, which would require another surgery to be fixed.

No caffeine is allowed in the first three months after this form of weight loss surgery, so people who regularly drink soda, coffee or tea must re-think their decision to undergo a gastric band surgery. Sodas, both regular and diet, can cause bloating, gas and increased stomach size and therefore should be avoided at all times.

Second Phase: In the next phase, five to six weeks after the operation, the patient can have a modified liquid diet. In this phase the patient should have 2 oz of protein shakes every hour during the day and 2 oz of other liquid food, like baby food or soup.

Third Phase: After the six weeks the patient can eat food that has been shredded in a food processor. This can include vegetables, salads and meat. Potatoes, bread and anything full of starch must be avoided. The doctor can alter the length of these phases according to the weight and health requirements of the patient.

Role of Protein: Protein is very important for patients who have undergone gastric band surgery. After the band is placed, the stomach will not be able to hold more than five to six ounce per meal. Therefore in order to stay healthy every bite needs to be full of nutrition. There is no point becoming unhealthy in order to lose weight. Fifty to sixty grams of protein per day is necessary to avoid deficiency of protein, which can cause weakness, loss of hair, delayed healing of wounds and edema. It could also cause depression, anxiety and other mental conditions. Protein levels in your blood can be tested in the lab with the help of serum albumin test.

Rhinoplasty is a common cosmetic surgery of the nose. There are multiple types of Rhinoplasty surgery and various reasons why this procedure is performed. This surgery is performed on patients for cosmetic reasons as well as health reasons.

For the most, it is performed for the reshaping, or reconstruction of the nose. Some patients choose Rhinoplasty surgery to repair obstruction of the nose that hinders normal breathing patterns. In most cases, sinus related problems can be fixed through this cosmetic surgery procedure.

The most common, yet most extensive type of Rhinoplasty is called, Open Rhinoplasty. This procedure is performed on the outside of the nose and is found most common in patients seeking cosmetic care. Open Rhinoplasty does intend to have some scarring involved but the less amount of recovery time in comparison to other types of Rhinoplasty.

Another type of nasal surgery is called, Closed Rhinoplasty. This procedure is performed inside the nose causing very little scarring or noticeable disorders. Closed Rhinoplasty, as well as Open Rhinoplasty, is used for cosmetic construction and health related problems. Though Closed Rhinoplasty shows less scarring it takes the longest recovery time.

Reduction Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty are two other common cosmetic surgery procedures. Though Reduction is the most common between the two, both are used in cosmetic care of the nose. While Reduction Rhinoplasty is performed in reducing the size of the nose, Septoplasty is used in straightening the nose. Thousands of patients request Reduction and Septoplasty as an elective procedure, though some procedures are requested due to an injury of the nose.

Although any general surgeon can perform nasal surgery, choosing the right one is very important. Before a patient decides on a surgeon, he/she should request a consultation with that performing surgeon. Many questions should be asked including “before and after” results. How many procedures of this kind have the surgeon performed would be another good question to be answered. Choosing the right surgeon should be done with the most extreme care possible.

Many patients, including famous movie stars, have Rhinoplasty and other types of cosmetic surgery, done each year. Discussing this procedure with others who have had Rhinoplasty done is great for outcome opinion.

The less common type of Rhinoplasty is Revision. Revision Rhinoplasty is common in correction of unsatisfied results of cosmetic surgery. Revision also has the longest recovery time of all types of Rhinoplasty. This procedure is the lesser of the five mentioned above. Revision is the one that should be avoided the most. Seeking the most experienced cosmetic surgeon can help in the avoidance of Revision. As with any surgery, the results of nose surgery are not completely guaranteed. Many patients are not satisfied with the results of their procedure.

This is the reason for Revision. Much time for recovery, and thought should be considered before Revision Rhinoplasty is performed. Overall, Rhinoplasty, a cosmetic surgery procedure, is highly favoured for the reshaping the nose. Though there are risks with all surgical procedures, the risks of Rhinoplasty are low when performed correctly.

Is Breast Reduction only found in women? The answer to the latter question is simply, no. Reduction of the breast is most commonly found in women; however, the number of men who is seeking breast reduction is on the rise.

Men also have extensive problems with weight gain in the breasts. Large breasts in both men and women, and even young children, are caused by different reasons. Large breasts can be a generic symptom or even in normal body growth. Those who have a weight gain problem also experience weight gain in the breasts. Another reason for large breasts is a hormone imbalance. This can be seen in young teens but is most common in women during and after menopause when hormones are out of balance. There are also many other reasons for large breasts but regardless of the reasons, it affects thousands of men, women, young boys and girls.

Many who have this problem face extensive peer pressure, low self esteem and self confidence issues. While most find help through Breast Reduction for cosmetic purposes, there are others who wish for this procedure for health and medical purposes. Some women and men find active sports embarrassing and painful especially if the sport requires extensive running or jumping. Because of the excessive weight and size of the breasts, such sports are often eliminated.

Breast Reduction cosmetic surgery relieves stress and tension mostly from an emotional stand point. However, Breast Reduction surgery, also known as, Mammoplasty, often is sought to relieve back and neck pain. Many seek this procedure to eliminate uncomfortable attire. Purchasing and wearing fitted clothing is often a challenge. Those who elect Breast Reduction find happiness and contentment. Though some regain weight back in the breasts after surgery, the success rate is very high.

What should one expect on the day of surgery and the days that follow? After much consideration and an extensive consultation with a chosen surgeon, the patient is ready to undergo surgery. The procedure generally takes two to four hours to complete. Excess fatty tissues are carefully removed from each breast. Each breast’s nipple may be repositioned according to the reduction of the breast. There are no known long term side effects to Breast Reduction surgery. After the procedure is finished, rest and recovery is a must. Most patients find that after surgery their breasts are very tender and sore. This is common after surgery and some localized bruising may also be an issue. It is common to allow four to six weeks for complete recovery from Breast Reduction cosmetic surgery.

Some disappointing effects from surgery may include but not be limited to, soreness of the breasts, numbness, swelling and breast size indifference. Having a complete discussion with the surgeon may eliminate the worries and fears of these concerns. Overall, Breast Reduction cosmetic surgery is practiced on a daily basis with much study and care. Most women, men and young teens are completely satisfied with the new appearance that they have. Giving back self confidence, raising self esteem, and promoting a healthier physical lifestyle, is generated through Breast Reduction.

Unlike other breast surgical procedures, Breast Lift surgery involves the removing of excess skin around the breast. Many women request this procedure due to volume loss in the breasts which cause the breasts to sag and hang out of proportion. This uncomfortable position can cause weight bearing side effects in the back, neck, or shoulders causing backaches and pains.

There are different reasons why the breasts tend to sag but some of those reasons are: excessive weight loss that causes volume loss in the breasts, pregnancy, which causes a woman’s body to stretch out of measure, or breast feeding. These are just to name a few reasons why Breast Lifts are performed.

Breast Lift cosmetic surgery is an elective procedure that allows women to regain shape and firmness in the breasts. This tends to cause the breasts to appear firmer, perkier, and lifted back into the position where they are meant to be. Through this procedure, the breasts are tightened and firmed by removing the skin around the breasts to produce maximum volume. Sometimes loss volume is so extensive, implants are used in the reshaping process of the breasts so that they do not look smaller than desired. Breast lift surgery is most common in smaller breasted women.

Larger busts have a lower success rate due to the weight of the breasts. The larger the busts are determines the amount of weight pulling them down causing them to sag. In such cases, Breast Reduction surgery is a common procedure performed with Breast Lift surgery. Smaller busted women have a higher overall satisfaction in the procedure. The weight bearing problem does not exist in the smaller breasts which allow for better and longer lasting Lifts.

A common question asked by patients either before or after the surgery is what side effects are there from a Breast Lift surgery. There are little side effects from Breast Lift cosmetic surgery. If there are any, most women do not have them for long. However, there are always precautions during this procedure, as with any surgical procedure. Localized bruising and swelling are common in Lift surgery. Numbness in the breasts, especially around the nipples is also very common. These side effects should not be ignored but should be monitored directly following surgery.

Recovery from Breast Lift surgery usually takes several weeks to completely heal. In some cases, complete recovery has taken several months to a year. Normal activities should be prolonged at least two to four weeks. Sexual activity should also be postponed for a couple of weeks following Breast Lift surgery. Careful consideration of sleeping positions is very important in protecting sore and swollen breasts.

Follow up appointments should always be kept in conjunction with close relations with the surgeon. Unanswered concerns should always be addressed as soon as they arrive.
Keep in mind, not all Breast Lift surgeries are 100% guaranteed. Excessive weight loss after surgery could be a concern if it causes the breasts to stretch and sag. Pregnancy after surgery could also be devastating to the breasts. It is suggested that Breast Lift surgery is postponed until all possible pregnancies are expired and physical growth and maturity has been reached.

In the world of cosmetic surgical procedures, Abdominoplasty, better known, as Tummy Tuck, is the most common. With obesity at its highest peak world wide, along with other health related illnesses, excessive abdominal fat is hard to control. Tummy Tuck procedures are mostly found in women but is not limited to women.

There are a growing number of men who are committing to such cosmetic surgeries. Both men and women that have weight related problems where dieting and exercising along cannot control are turning to a type of cosmetic surgery called a Tummy Tuck. Tummy Tuck, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is used in eliminating unwanted abdominal fat. It is commonly performed on patients with a little excess fat around the middle section to remove fat that just does not seem to disappear no matter what efforts were made to do so.

Through this surgery, a person can have a flatter stomach and actually lose inches off their waist line size. During a Tummy Tuck, skin and fat is removed, leaving a firmer and fit abdominal area. Most Tummy Tuck procedures are performed between the belly button and the pubic area. Some incisions are made horizontally while others are vertical going from hip bone to hip bone.

Because of differences in each individual, there are different Tummy Tuck procedures that can be examined. One should discuss with a cosmetic surgeon the benefits of each procedure and the risks of each procedure to determine the overall outcome will be satisfying and effective. One type of Tummy Tuck surgery is called a Mini Tuck. This form of procedure is the less expensive; however, it is not the best for every individual.

Mini Tummy Tuck cosmetic surgery is best for patients whose fat problems are located at the lower end of their stomach, usually underneath or around the navel. Another type of surgery called extended Tummy Tuck is used for patients who have excessive weight around the hips, sides, and lower back. This is when the fat and skin is removed and lifted to remove “love handles” and firm up the patient’s mid section. For a Full Tummy Tuck, a patient will most likely have to have a more serious case of a bulging belly or more weight around the stomach area.

This procedure removes fat and skin around the belly button as well as under the belly button, muscles are tightened, and sometimes a liposuction procedure is done. The foremost surgery takes the longest to recover from, but is the most used for patients who a liposuction or Mini Tuck alone would not be of any help. The patients of Tummy Tucks are asked to change their eating patterns so that healthy habits are formed. Exercise is recommended after the healing process is over and check up visits to the individual’s GP is requested. After the Tummy Tuck surgery is completed, no matter which one was performed, results may vary with each patient, but a full satisfaction guarantee is a promise.

There are many techniques of cosmetic surgery. Finding the surgery that is best for dealing with an excessive fat problem can become very overwhelming. Liposuction is recommended in men and women that have an enormous weight problem. Different from other methods of its kind, Liposuction involves the actual suctioning out of fat from specific areas of the body. Again, this technique is becoming a more wide spread option for overweight men and women. Not everyone qualifies for this procedure. Those who are in good health and have a close to normal size in weight are the prime candidates for this surgery.

What is there to expect during Liposuction cosmetic surgery? Before the incision of the procedure is made, a solution is injected to the designated area. This solution aids in protecting from excessive bleeding and possible blood clots. Surgical instruments are then injected to break up and release fat deposits. When enough fat has been freed, a suction, which will act as a vacuum, is injected to suck out the unwanted fat. Excessive skin is cut away to make a tight fit for the chosen area.

Liposuction cosmetic surgery is not suggested for the entire body. Only certain spots of the body are able to be operated on. In women, the most procedures are performed on the thighs, buttocks, stomach and under the chin area. In men, the leading Liposuction procedure areas are around the waist which is better known as, love handles. Other areas include under the chin, around the neck and stomach area.

These areas are not always acceptable to Liposuction surgery but most often show a high response. There are many dangers and side effects for Liposuction cosmetic surgery. These side effects should be considered and discussed in detail with the chosen surgeon. Some of the side effects include blood clots, excessive bleeding, tingling and lack of feeling in the area of the surgery. Not all procedures have a negative outcome, but instead, most all leave satisfied results.

Liposuction is often times long lasting when exercise and a good healthy diet are included. The recovery process for liposuction is quick and easy. All that is needed is just a few days home from work or other activities requiring physical movement beyond walking or sitting. Bruising can occur around the places that were operated on. This will disappear within a few days. Some sort of tight-fitted support garment like a girdle should be worn to help reduce swelling.

Exercise is supposed to be prolonged until a couple of weeks later when some of the bruising has had time to heal. When all bruising has healed and the area is no longer sore, the results are guaranteed to be absolutely stunning. Whether the procedure is needed around the stomach, legs, or arms, liposuction is a great way to literally suck the fat right off of someone and leave them with a flatter area a very attractive appearance.

Face lift surgery has many types of procedures ranging from mild to extreme make over. The prime candidates are those between 30 and 55 years old. However, anyone over 30 years old is well acceptable to Face Lift surgery.

There is a wide variety of reasons for undergoing this procedure. The number one reason for a lift is due to aging. The number of candidates who are requesting Face lift surgery, who have been scarred from injury to the facial area, is on the rise. Excessive weight loss is also a prime reason for this surgery.

It is highly recommended that a thorough, in-depth study of each type of Face Lift cosmic surgery be performed by the recipient. A well distinctive consultation with the administering surgeon is also highly recommended.

Choosing a well trained and experienced surgeon is the top priority. The recipient may also wish to view or request the surgeon’s previous before and after results. The most common type of Face Lift cosmetic surgery is called SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system lift). This is the best all around procedure of the face lift class. With this type of procedure, the top layer of skin is affected along with the deep facial tissues. This procedure is the best method to tone and firm the facial area. Though it is the best in its class, SMAS, requires the longest recovery time.

Short Scar Lift and Mid Face Lift, are the lesser of the varieties. These two Lifts are considered the “freshening up” look. The recoveries of these two Lifts are the shortest and have little to no side effects.
Endoscopic Face Lift is mainly done inside with the help of an Endoscope. This procedure is said to leave the least amount of scarring.

Thread Lift is another procedure that is common through the cosmetic field. In this type, metal hooks are used to pin back the facial skin allowing the skin to tighten and become firmer. No skin is actually cut and removed through this procedure. It is not highly recommended because of the inconsistency of its performance. Generally, it is just a “make do” procedure until a latter Lift can be performed.
The most extreme make over Face Lift surgery is called, Deep Plane. This procedure goes deeper than any other type and has the longest lasting results.

Muscles and facial tissues are also cut and tightened. This is the most dramatic changing facial surgery available. However, the risks and side effects of this procedure is also the most extreme. Possible facial nerve injury is common with Deep Plane.

Eyebag Removal is most commonly requested by adults 35 and older. This is most apparent because of the aging process. Through age and time, the skin around the eye and eyelid begins to sag or droop. While medical risks are not an issue through sagging skin, it can block and cause vision of the eye difficult.

Eyebag Removal is also common in children and young adults who have, what is commonly called, sleepy or lazy eye. Sleepy, or lazy eye, consists of nerve damage or a poor muscle in the eyelid. When treatment is inevitable in young children, generally, genetics are to blame. Though sleepy, or lazy eye, does not pose a threat, it can tend to be a nagging experience. Ridicule and embarrassment are also related problems especially in children and young adults.

When eyebag removal cosmetic surgery is elected, regardless of the reasons, the results seemingly have a high satisfaction rate. Choosing the best cosmetic surgeon is important along with a detailed consultation. During the basic eyebag removal procedure, incisions are made on the upper eyelid and occasionally across the bottom rim. Excess skin and possible over stretched muscle are. This allows the eyelid to be firm causing complete satisfaction. When ageing or weight loss is the culprit, the “eye lift” procedure is basically the same. Unfortunately, not all cases are long lasting. This is simply due to the fact that the more that ageing and weight loss is an issue after surgery, the more drooping will take place. This unwanted experience may require another eyebag removal.

Not everyone who requests an eyebag removal surgery is granted the permission from the practicing surgeon. Candidates who have a long term history of heart disease, high blood pressure or hypothyroidism are not encouraged to undergo such procedures. Dry eyes are also a complication to the procedure.

When preparing for the actual surgery, general anesthesia may be used. Mild sedation is also used in some cases. This is where the candidate is mildly sedated yet awake during the process.
The recovery time for eyebag removal is based upon each individual but normally requires 10 days; up to three weeks in some cases. The surgeon may include specific directions that should be followed after the procedure is complete.

Proper bandaging of the eye is very important. All strenuous activities should be restricted for at least three weeks to avoid possible blood clots or eye vessel damage. Choosing eyebag removal cosmetic surgery is a large step in taking control of self confidence and raising self esteem. Though it may seem as a big challenge, its reward is overwhelming. When following the proper recovery process, this surgery has high potential to be the best cosmetic surgery of its kind.

What are the benefits and side effects of chemical peel treatments? These are a few questions among many relating to chemical peel treatment.

A chemical peel is a cosmetic surgery procedure where chemicals are used, mainly in the facial area, to remove unwanted spots, wrinkles and blemishes.

This technique is also good for the removal of skin cancer and acne. This procedure acts as a resurfacing agent as it removes spots and wrinkles, and then resurfaces the face with rejuvenating skin. During this process, the chosen peel is placed over the face and then peeled off allowing brighter and more vibrant skin tone to appear.

The three types of chemical peels include:

Alphahydroxy acid,

Trichloracetic Acid

Phenol.

Among the three, Phenol is the deepest peel causing the most dramatic facial change. This procedure requires the longest amount of recovery time. Though Phenol is suggested for the removal of some types of skin cancer and skin cancer cells, it is merely used for cosmetic purposes only. Much consideration is advised when any chemical peel is used, especially when administered by unauthorized practitioners.

Another type of chemical peel is Trichloracetic Acid known as, TCA. This treatment is thought to be the best method of chemical peel treatment. It is a mild treatment that targets medium to low blemishes, sun spots and fine lines. Though it can be performed at home, medical assistance is the best alternative.

TCA is also used to remove blotchy skin, acne, freckles, pimples and more.
A simpler type of chemical peel treatment is called, Alphahydroxy Acid (AHA). It tends to be the less aggressive form of peels yet has a satisfactory success rate. This form of cosmetic procedure is used in the treatment of rough, scaly skin. It removes thin to medium lines and fills wrinkles to allow the face to brighten and shine to its maximum potential.

During the process of the chemical peel treatment, the skin may feel numbness or tingling sensations. Though there are side effects and risks, these are common procedural traits. Mild swelling and redness are also to be expected but should subside in a couple of days. Though Phenol treatment is longer lasting, all treatments are not guaranteed to for a long term fix. TCA and AHA Peels may be repeated every two months. Phenol chemical peels are not repeated for several months.

Some side effects may be harmful depending on the nature of the skin. Side effects may include: discolouration of the skin, infection or even permanent scarring. Any chemical peel treatment, when done inaccurately, may also cause facial burns.

Overall, chemical peels, when administered correctly by a cosmetic surgeon, has a high success rate. The removing of wrinkles, spots and blemishes are the reward of chemical peels. All of the three types of peels are highly rated depending on the circumstances. Satisfaction is depended on individual care.

With all of the advancements that technology has made over the past 30 years, remaining as beautiful as your were back in high school can easily be achieved. Many women are taking advantage of all of the benefits that cosmetic surgery can provide. Doctors are now able to perform many more complicated procedures than the simple face lift, which is apparent when you watch any of the Hollywood stars retain their looks so well. You have to understand that plastic surgery is their only secret to looking so young. For them, they have found the true Fountain of Youth.

Instead of mere legend, the ability to erase any signs of aging is now a very true reality. Since there can be some related risks when going through any medical procedure, you should always evaluate your need for cosmetic surgery with the care of a trained and licensed professional. Try to get an opinion that is unbiased, so that you can remove the chance of a surgeon trying to just make money off of your procedures. If you take a bit of extra time to research the outcome of what you are planning to have done, you will be more happy with the final results in the end.

Some women take advantage of all of the procedures that they can have done for the right amount of money that they can afford, and this is strongly ill advised. The key to keeping a natural look is to make the changes very subtle over time. Getting too much cosmetic surgery can put your body under unnecessary stress and physical strain. Give your body time to heal each procedure. For more information on cosmetic and plastic surgeons visit www.cosmeticsurgeon.co.uk
